A few tips on traveling abroad with THC/CBD

Cannabis is increasingly recognized for its potent medicinal benefits, offering relief for conditions ranging from minor injuries to chronic pain, and even providing support for serious illnesses like cancer and Parkinson’s disease.

However, despite its healing properties, cannabis remains illegal or restricted in many places. This means you can’t simply carry it on a plane or travel to another country with it, as laws vary significantly around the world and even within the United States.

So, how can you travel abroad with CBD or cannabis? Well, there is no exact answer to this question because it depends on a lot of different factors.

It depends on which kind of transportation you will use. Are you going to fly on a plane, do you want to use a train or maybe just drive with your car? It also depends on the destination.

If a country has completely legalized the marijuana plant, then there is no reason why you should worry about carrying CBD with you. It would be completely legal. But, when traveling to countries that have not legalized this plant, you are going to run into trouble.

To help you with this problem, here are the top 10 tips we have for traveling abroad with cannabis.

Do you need to fly with cannabis?

One of the first things you need to clear up is to determine whether you will really need to carry cannabis with you while traveling. Is it only for recreational purposes or do you have some kind of medical need for it? Of course, if your need for cannabis is medicinal then I guess you do have to take it with you. If you want to carry it with you only because of recreational purposes the maybe you don’t really need to take it with you.

However, in the end, it is up to you whether it is important enough or not.

Understand the laws

One of the first things you have to do before you travel anywhere is to research and learn the laws of the country you will be visiting. These days, you probably won’t run into any kind of laws related to CBD that might cause any problems, but you may run into laws that prohibit carrying pure cannabis oil or leaf.

So, the easiest way you can avoid any kind of problem is to do a bit of research. For example, most states in the US currently accept a large variety of CBD oil, but you won’t be able to bring any kind of other forms of the marijuana plant. The TSA will probably confiscate your marijuana and may even cause you some legal trouble. So, when traveling to the US, I would be careful about carrying cannabis products except for CBD.

Detox your body

Like I already said, some countries have fully legalized any kind of marijuana form, while others still have some laws that allow certain cannabis-related products. But, it is safe to say that the majority of the world is starting to accept this medicinal plant.

However, believe it or not, there are some countries around this planet that still have very strict rules about cannabis. In fact, they might even give you a drug test if you are suspicious enough.

For example, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines, and many more countries still have a big problem with cannabis. As you can see in this report, it is best to do a detox from weed before you travel anywhere to ensure that you do not have any THC metabolites in your body. That way when you reach a country such as Turkey or Saudi Arabia, you won’t run into trouble.

Synthetic urine

Assuming that you are determined to carry marijuana or CBD in a country where it is very illegal, I would suggest that you carry at least one bag of synthetic urine. In other words, it is fake urine that you can use to “cheat” and pass a drug test. The only thing you have to worry about when using synthetic urine is the fact that you have to keep it warm. According to medsignals.com, these days synthetic urine has become much more advanced and it basically cannot be distinguished from real urine.

Bring documentation

Assuming that the CBD oil that you want to carry with yourself is completely for a medicinal purpose, you should always carry the documents that can confirm that. It doesn’t matter whether you’re traveling in the US, Europe or Asia, I believe that it won’t hurt if you carry those documents with you.

Carry it in hand luggage

If you are planning to take CBD or THC oil with you, I would recommend that you put it in your hand held luggage. This way, you reduce the risk of spilling it and always have it near you, so if you ever need to consume it, it’s right there.

Additionally, if you’re interested in exploring other options, you might want to check out some CBD or THC vape pens, which are also convenient for travel and offer a different experience.

Keep it less than 100 mL

While this isn’t necessarily directed to CBD oil, I still think that you should take airport rules into consideration. If you do not want to cause any trouble while you are at the airport, I would suggest that you only carry bottles of CBD that are less than 100 mL.

Avoid certain countries

The easiest way not to get into any kind of cannabis-related issue is to avoid the countries that have rigorous rules related to it. I advise not to travel to Dubai, Istanbul, Manila, Beirut, Damascus, and many more.

Consider Europe countries

The place where you will have the least amount of problems related to marijuana in Europe. A large percentage of the countries on this continent have accepted marijuana as a healing plant and something that should be completely legal. I would recommend checking out Netherlands, United Kingdom, Spain, and many others.

Follow these tips and you will be fine

The last tip I have for you is to just simply follow all of these tips we mentioned above, and respect the laws of the countries that are your destination.
